I’m home from work with a cold and a head that feels as a ballon. When I tried to write earlier today I fell asleep with my mac in my knee. New try and let’s see if I manage to finish this time.

I got an igm from a player that wondered about the players that have settled in the Outskirts. There are many big accounts out there and the area has many good croppers. Some accounts are single, some consists of 2-3 players. Most of them has no official bindings to a meta. There are also a few that have settled in the opposite quad as their meta.

The question is if we can expect any hammers from the players out there. Are they building a lot of troops or only simming to get the medal for participating in Tournament?

Not unexpected the biggest accounts is gauls which implies that they are building traps for population and since gauls is rare as hammer builders – well, they are simmers.

Last year many hammer was caught before they could be used as the WWKs they was meant as. Is it possible that some have moved out to build WWKs in peace far out? In my opinion no. It’s hard to get a hammer big enough without trainer and you need support as boost.

So no, if you build so far out you will not have any impact on the servers outcome. Kim from Æ-VN for example. Out there he don’t have to count on  players that wants to destroy him because he use his troops in an abhorrent way.

There are a limit on how much you can raid from an alliance member. There should be a similar rule for killing own or friends troops solely for attack points.

Especially in the Final, the prices  shall go to players that have earned them in a real way.

Hey Travian! Can you do something? Players are really upset but they prefer to use their hammers on the important targets for the game.

Strategic’s maps

It’s interesting to compare the map from January with this new for February. I have added WWs and Building plans presumed landing spots. I don’t claim that they are on the exact spots 😛

What I first noticed was that G&V’s area around their WW have been seriously reduced. It was my first thought when I saw the choice of 0/100 as the GEP WW that it will be hard to defend with !!CS!! in the same area. They showed their willingness to fight on the International qualification where they efficiently prevented HellasDT to run the planned WW race. Dacia Z have also been involved in the operations, one more aggressive alliance. So G&V haven’t had an easy task.

In SouthEast is it the Turkey alliances and Arabs that have been picked one by one by the surrounding Polacks and Russians. Turkey had a stronghold against the SE/SW border but it is almost gone. The same with the ND alliances that first concentrated on 100/-100 area. The only stronghold the Rainbow coalition have left is the area hold by China from beginning. Their WW holder ALFA have changed ally from COF to Adamus which is situated in NorthEast.

That makes me wonder how well the GEP meta are doing. The WW 100/100 is still hold by Maraz but Dogma (Germany) don’t let them be. Animals still claims they are independent. G&V have obviously don’t get enough support from the rest of the coalition.

In SouthWest there are no bigger changes on map but SPQR meta is still very operative with a hard pressure on especially BAD around BP areas, even PS has been an irritating visitor.

The most notable change in NorthWest is that Dacia have wedged themselves in between SPQR’s WW area and Winter.

We have the same colors as on the last maps.

The Gray zone

With all WWs taken in contradiction to past Finals even the Gray zone have been an arena for hard fights. Br Kiss have lost area to SPQR creating a no mans land between them. nTPl O must be an discouraging opponent, not many have dared to intrude on their corner of the Gray zone. For some reason they allow Tormentor to keep his WW untouched.

The COF alliance that settled beside Animals have changed name to Müfrezee, one more example on how complicated the turns have been amongst the Turks after the break up between leaders before Final started. We also have a few FHC FR in between.

And WINter, well they have digging in hard and as we heard from Katarina they fights with everyone. We was also told that they have a lot of def. Will they try to build on one of their WWs?

The Building plans release on Friday will be an intriguing match. It isn’t only about to get a building plan. It will also be a lot more difficult to keep them and hold them active!

The contest is still open!
